Healthy Dessert Ideas

We all deserve a treat every once in a while. However, most desserts don't make you feel your best after eating them. So, here are a few of my favorite guilt-free desserts.

1. Nice cream

This ice cream made entirely out of bananas, but just as delicious as regular ice cream.

Ingredients:

- 1 large frozen sliced banana

- vanilla extract

- other frozen fruit of choice (optional)

Directions:

1. pulse ingredients in a blender until smooth and thick consistency

2. Put into a bowl and enjoy!

2. Dark chocolate banana bites

These are full of antioxidants and potassium.

Ingredients:

- 2 medium ripe bananas

- 3/4 cup dark chocolate

Directions:

1. Cover a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper to prevent the banana bites from sticking.

2. Slice bananas and arrange them on the baking sheet

3. Melt chocolate (be careful not to burn!)

4. Use a fork or spoon to cover each banana slice in chocolate, then place back onto the sheet

5. Store in the freezer and let thaw for a few minutes before enjoying

3. Chocolate brownies

Ingredients:

- 3 bananas

- 1/2 cup cocoa powder

- 1 cup crunchy almond butter

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a 9x9 square pan with non-stick spray.

2. In a large bowl, mash bananas until smooth. Add almond butter and mix. Add cocoa until there is no cocoa powder visible.

3. Pour mix into the baking pan and bake for 20 mins. Let cool completely before cutting.

4. Coconut chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients:

- 1/2 cup peanut butter

- 2 tablespoons coconut oil

- 1/2 cup coconut sugar

- 2 large eggs

- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

- 1/2 tsp baking soda

- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

- 1/4 tsp salt

- 1/2 cup coconut flour

- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Put the peanut butter, coconut oil, and coconut sugar in a food processor. Process until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, process again until combined.

3. Put in the baking soda, cinnamon, and salt over top. Then put in coconut flour. Process until mixture creates a smooth dough. Use a spatula to gently fold in the chocolate chips.

4. Put heaping tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheet. Flatten the dough with fingers.

5. Bake for 7 mins or until the edges are golden brown.

6. Let cool for 3 minutes before transferring cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

Let me know if you try any of these recipes! Thank you!
